Australia's own- Sophia Davey!

Sophia Davey is born in Cairns, North Queensland, Australia. Currently she lives resides as an actress in New York. Although her parents are from different nations they settled in Far North Australia in the late 70’s. Her father is a fisherman from Britain and her mother was an artist and homemaker from Cyprus, who sadly past away from breast cancer when Sophia was just 7 years old.

Sophia Davey starts her education in a highly regarded school, Pocklington Grammar in Yorkshire England. Her passion for performing arts is born in these years when she is still very young. Sophia graduates from Pocklington Grammar with high distinctions.

She returns back to Australia at the age of 17 when she is cast in a leading role in her first film, shot in Port Douglas in the late 1990’s. She then trains with some of the best Australian acting teachers at NIDA (Gavin Robins �" Head of Movement) VCA (Lyndie Davies �" Voice and Text), Melbourne Actors Lab (Peter Kalos), Ivana Chubbuck and more recently Margie Haber and Susan Batson in USA.

For the past 10 years Sophia hasn’t stopped building her career and improving her performance. She has acted in leading theatres in Melbourne Australia. She has worked with accomplished directors and writers for the screen and commercially. Sophia is the kind of actress that attracts the audience’s attention like a magnet. Although she is already a professional in her field, she keeps exploring her abilities and is trying every time to improve her performance. She is a person that uses her imagination and is dedicated to her passion �" performing.

Over time and her experience in performing, Sophia has gained many skills. Starting in 2000 she applied herself to Physical Theatre, BA Theatre and Creative Writing. From 2010 till 2011 she studies Chubbuck Techniques. After this she studies Voice, Film and TV. In 2013 �" Voice, Slices and other. She also specializes in teaching yoga. Her favorite sports are skiing, netball, hockey and swimming. Sophia speaks French and English and has can speak in American, Australian, British, Spanish and French accents. She also plays acoustic guitar.

Sophia Davey is now living in New York with her husband and two beautiful sons.
