Behind the Lens: Ekaterina DoldjevaA Story by starpowerFilm maker- Ekaterina Doldjeva!Ekaterina Doldjeva has not only made her family proud but can safely say she has made significant progress in a foreign country. She does not have a wealth of experience in filmmaking but judging from her yearly awards and recognitions, Ekaterina is clearly on her way to stardom. In the space of four years, Ekaterina has accomplished so much to be proud. In 2009, Ekaterina was awarded the Geiser Global Education Memorial Scholarship to continue the Transfer Studies program at College of Canyons in Valencia, California. The following year she was made Still Photographer for the Associated Student Government Program. She later moved to Chicago and enrolled in the Film and Video Cinematography program at Columbia College. Fortunately for Ekaterina she was afforded the opportunity to hone her media skills through her internship experience at Big Shoulders Digital Video Production Company and also at the College as the Lighting Technician. Ekaterina is among the accomplished Bulgarians who have helped to put their country’s name on the world map. Therefore, she is the two-time recipient of the Drinovska scholarship. The scholarship covered her academic fees for the years 2011 and 2012. Ekaterina has worked on television newscasts on the California-based Channel 20. She was also received the 2011 Jury Award for best creative film, Two Headed Boy, in the Take 1 Film Festival. Ekaterina has shot more than 50 short films in the space of two years and her television experience afforded her the opportunity to shoot on 16 mm film and professional digital cameras. Ekaterina is among the crew of several televisions shows aired on Fox, ABC and NBC. She continues to develop her skills in photography and cinematography as she makes strives towards the ultimate goal as the best filmmaker in the world. © 2013 starpower |
