Is Igor Karapetyan Just Passing Through?

Cinematographer, Igor Karapetyan launches new music project "The Myth Project", with fellow Russian musicians, to be completed soon!

Igor Karapetyan has left Russia, where he was born and has always been involved in theatre, cinema and music, to further his education at UC Berkley. Is here here to stay?

With an Actor of Drama and Cinematography graduate degree from Kazan State Theater College, in Kazan, Russia, and a Director of Drama degree from the famous Vakhtangov Theatre Academy, in Moscow, Russia, already added to his resume, Igor Karapetyan still isn't satisfied. Igor's reason for moving to the USA is to apply for one of two Graduate Programs at UC Berkley, either a Masters in Film and Media, or a Masters in Performance Studies.

Igor's multifaceted career in the field of cinema started when he was working in drama theater. As a young actor he was invited by a Russian TV channel to be in a short TV series. It was a 6 episode series that parodied classic plays by W. Shakespeare, N. Gogol and A. Pushkin. After a couple of years Igor started to learn video production, jumping into commercials. Starting as a video editor, then moving on to producing and directing, all the while continuing with his work in drama.

Igor is also a composer and musician, having played piano professionally for many years. Recently, he launched a new music project with some Russian musicians. The project is named "The Myth Project", with the music, poems and style recordings all directed by by Igor himself. The album is expected to be mastered and almost completed, soon. 

Mr. Karapetyan has not hinted at what his plans are after Berkley, even if those plans entail a return to Russia or remaining in the USA. I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
