stepping stones

stepping stones

A Poem by Theresa

hush, hush
it's time to prepare

now and then
two quick blinks of the eyes

pause now,
stop and stare

set limits unbinding
in the vast open skies

hold on tight,
the rules aren't fair

make them yours,
exhalted and tried.

I love this one's structure and rhyme. Flowed nicely. It feels like you're telling yourself to embrace life for what it is, and consequently to conquer it. And "set limits unbinding" is such a nice contradiction, but makes so much sense. It reminds me of a fractal, and how seeing it twist in on itself makes infinity somewhat easier to grasp.
