transcendent

transcendent

A Poem by Theresa
"

For Charlie.

"

beneath the tides
of the masks we're all forced to wear
lies an anomaly

raging flames
in the core of being

the deepest depths
below even the abyss

the kingdom was ours
for the taking
how desperately we
yearned for the growth
to mold our realities
into one being
to finally take on the throne
over the silent beach
where the waves met the horizon
and the beginning of culmination
was fast approaching
rhythmic as the steady
beat of a single existence

evolution is key
the next step in
the journey,
the journey,
it's all about the journey.

it is quiet and still now,
or as it should be,
and shall be,

as the minutes tick to midnight

listen and learn,
follow the whispers,
let them guide through
the blackest of
black

in the days of
separation, it must
be reminded

to ever search,
every crevice,
every instinct,
every impulse,
every little bit and piece
of everything
on the inside.

nurture said warrior,
nurture, nurture,
abide the wishes
in the plus column
only.

the spirits must
wander right
into the unknown

the unimagined,
the future,

the words that were
meant for us alone.

if you let the infection
exist untreated,

it will spread and
permeate,

until poison is all that
remains.

fight, fight, fight,

never let the fire
burn dry,

it may spread
out of control,

and take entire whole
forests to the
brink of nothingness-

but nurture, nurture

and never let it die.

control, consume-
control.

the past, the present,
the future,

it must not be seen in
black or white,

it is the balance that
separates,
the balance of gray
the only way to allow
for the evolution
and betterment
of the soul.

it escapes
the guidelines
that reality
has set upon us

transcends
the static in the air

it is stronger than
either of us can be
at present
stronger than the chaos
stronger than the destruction
stronger than the darkness

it exists,
pure and true,

and there is
really nothing

not one single solitary
thing

act of emotion or speech,

that can break it.

it simply is,

and nothing else can
be done.

fueled by the
most extraordinary

bonds of the
unspeakable,

ties of the
divine,

flaws of the
natural,

stability of the
mundane,

desires of the
unencumbered,

purity of the
sense of self.

it simply is,
it simply was,
it simply ever
shall be

the hand in hand
must cease

if hope has a
chance to
survive

curb the faded,
redefine the cynical,

hope and be
live and let live,

hold on
and
let go

and embrace
every and all.

come what may,
be what may,

broken and shall-
someday
unite.

"it simply is,
it simply was,
it simply ever
shall be."

I admire any head-on effort to put in verse the Universe. And when you realize the cycle is, was, and ever will be, you realize there is no start or end. That's why it's all about the journey...

I like repetitiveness. Yours. It's amazing, how the same phrase can be repeated and take on an entirely new meaning.
