Here's a lyrics to a song God inspired me to write at a time when I've been plagued with thoughts of not being enough... in the midst of a world that's constantly trying to make you something else.
At first, I hesitated to share this. In fact, I fought with myself before I posted it. You see, I'm no pro when it comes to songwriting. And I'm not a musician, either. lol! But since the day God came into my life 13 yrs ago, I began to write songs during my highs and lows. I couldn't understand it, either. It just came naturally, as if I could imagine the notes in it. Though these were once personal accounts of my journey with Him, now I'm beginning to share it to the world, not to be seen but to help others--because my heart is overflowing with joy to help those who might be struggling where I was struggling before. And I hope to share a full account of the story behind this song in my blog. However, I'm still looking for someone who can give life to the words in the song--one that could really catch the feel and the conviction God placed in my heart when I first wrote it. The kind of music with a great anointing that brought me to a real high that night. If that could possibly be you, or anyone you know, please let me hear it. And together, by the grace of God, let's change the world! ^^, Please let me know what you think in the comments below. Rude comments are welcome, too! It helps me improve my work, lol. XD

You have a really strong base here. Your emotions in this piece are intense and really readable and nicely conveyed. I can see this translating nicely into a song because even as just a poem, it has a nice musicality to it, which isn't always an easy thing to achieve. My main criticism here is that it's a bit bland. It doesn't feel like you've said anything really new here. What's missing, at least in my view, is the injection of yourself into this piece. As a writer, you're unique from everyone else that's writing similar pieces, you just have to show it, which I understand is easier said than done. But I believe in you!
One other thing, which really is just me being nit picky: your line, "Everywhere I looked, it's what they tell me" is grammatically incorrect. You've mixed the tenses (looked vs tell). It's an easy mistake to make and luckily an easy one to correct, too.
Keep up the good work, I hope this review was helpful!

Yes, it is indeed helpful. :) You've got such a keen eye and I like that. :) Thanks for believing in me, too. :) People like you (together with the others here) helps me keep writing. :) However, at first, I didn't understand why you meant it's a bit bland. But now I get it. :) There's a side to it that it really is... :) I'll try to work on it. :) On the other hand, maybe, you were able to say that it is such because the idea is no longer new to you; sorrounded or too familiar maybe with convicted or converted christians or artists for that matter. But when I wrote it, it was totally new to me. Totally new... as I felt the spirit stirring me into something! :) So when you said, I've never really said anything new there, it's because there's only "one Spirit" working in the hearts of those like me who've underwent the same struggles. :) So, that no one could take pride in their conversion because it is grace working in all of them. :) I understand how you see it rather because even me, when I get to hear other christian songs whose message and convictions resounds with my very own, those very private inner workings of the spirit within me that I haven't put into writing yet or are still placed in my notebook, not shared with anyone yet... sometimes, I feel like I'm seeing myself in them as if in a mirror... that there's some parts that there's nothing new to it as it has exactly the same message with them--which amazes me! :) Maybe I could inject myself more into the piece by telling my story in my own native language or by injecting some details of my own testimony--of how exactly God worked in my life to reach that point of total surrender and conviction. :) So, THANKS A LOT again, K! It made me think. :) Nice meeting you. You're such a great help!:) God bless your writings, too! :) Anyway, sorry for the very late reply. I've been quite busy with my life for the past several months.

This describes a strong resolve and a cry for help. I feel like the message in this is important, especially for people who want to put God first in thier lives. Thanks for sharing

I'm so glad to know you've sensed it's grave importance. And yeah, definitely! Because when I first wrote it, it was both a prayer and an act of surrender. :) A sweet surrender. :) You really have a keen eye. :) Great for artists/writers.
It's calming to know people like you still exist. Today, God has become someone people blame when they trip in life. They often forget that God was also the One that helped them walk.
Beautiful piece! Keep up!

I adore people when they are strong enough to support their views themselves because people in today land have been so busy that they remember God only when they are devoid of all hopes but you expressed your love for the almighty in the most melodious way possible.

These works of mine would be meaningless if it doesn't touch hearts, and I'm so thankful through these reviews to know it does. Anyway, I know you can write something like this, my dear as I've felt God has given you more talent than me. Just write more with your heart than with your mind. And of course, let Him write through you. ^^,
