LIQUOR IN MY SOUL

LIQUOR IN MY SOUL

A Poem by stardust X

In my skin
I keep that sweet taste of gin
from the summer we lived in
Beheaded by the wind

In my brain
I keep all those blood stains
from the land it never rains
Beheaded by the fate

And now

I got liquor in my soul
I got dead bugs in my heart

In my mind
I got sour, sour wine
from the fall of 69
the season we went blind

In my lungs
I got heavy, heavy smoke
from the future that we broke
now the gates are locked

But I got liquor in my soul,
I got dead bugs in my heart

This has such a retro feel to it, I adore it. Everything is very well-put and it's magically lyrical!

I like this piece alot. It is sad, but very true. The images and feelings came to me as I read.

Very, very interesting images. Sad beginning, sad end, I can feel the wounds bleeding. The rhymes create a monotonous melody, another symbol for fall and sadness.
