EternalA Poem by Starbound25for my husband
I remember asking destiny
to send you to me my life, my love, my soulmate if there was such a thing and the next day there you were wrinkled shirt, unshaven face and a laugh that could stop a truck you were in the last place I would have looked standing right in front of me you wanted so badly for me to see how you and I were meant to be within hours of our first "unofficial" date my heart knew I would have run away to Vegas with you if you had asked 12 months later we stood before God and family and friends and we bound ourselves together till death do us part we were supposed to grow old together sit on a porch in our rocking chairs holding our arthritic hands together and watching the sunset in our golden years but our fairy tale was cut short with a most dramatic ending I long for you and ache for you and cry for you and miss you every second YOU were the light by which I guided MY life without you there is only darkness yet the flame from my love burns eternal
