Today's moments

Today's moments

A Poem by Tara

Shove tomorrow's worries under the bed,
let's enjoy each other's company,
allow us to enjoy today's wonders instead.

You shout your loving vows to the world,
and look at me with those feverish eyes.
In the heat of the moment you kiss me, I sigh.
Heaven only knows when we will say goodbye.

Those cold blasting days,
we stay warm in bed.
Not thinking about tomorrow,
no, I suppose we never did think ahead.

Do you think that's the trouble?
We never did try to worry,
about our future, our lives,
the storms we have to endure.

We'd just shovel our problems in the grave.
Maybe if we dig deeper,
they will forever just stay.

As we watch old couples passing by,
we say nothing about you and I.
The silence screams, but we remain quiet.
We are together for now, that's all that matters,
lets not worry ahead of our time.
