My Reality

My Reality

A Poem by Trisha C.
"

This is just the way I feel about people who try to push conventional life on me. I am different, always have been and always will be.

"
I shy away from reality and its stinging stare
To live in a fantasy world some say is not there.
Don't tell me I'm wrong or I need to wake up.

I see how you live, in your anger and misery
While I'm being anyone I wish to be.
I believe I have the better part of the bargain.

I don't belong in the world you call real,
It hurts me and bruises me and I don't want to feel.
You can have all that, I don't need it.

Go ahead and tell me I'm being stupid and blind
While you leave your happiness and freedom behind.
Everyone has different needs, don't judge me!

Is sad to be surrounded by so many believing they 'tell it like it is', when in actuality...they're just much too quick to say it as they see it. Have a daughter much like you. Everyone needs that safe place.

Very well said!
