A Poem by AMetaphoricalSoul

We all live in a golden age
Let's not wait til we're olden age
I gotta live it up while I can
Because I'm not just a man, I'm an optimist, I'm a lifelong fan of
Living everyday as if it means something
I mean something
I am the king of
My own personal destiny
Life isn't just a test you see, it's a
Celebration, a festivity
I don't wanna be the one who sees, the world as a dismal place
I keep a happy face for every gender and every race
I like to wake up in the morning with a smile on my face because the sun is out
And even if it causes drought, I keep that smile on because I have no doubt
That we as a people can pick ourselves back up again
We will recover with each other as our own medicine
That's how it's been
From the beginning of time until the very end
When does it end?
Should we even care?
Or should we live life to the fullest and treat it rare?
Plan for the then but live for the now
I don't wanna die but I know somehow that
It's an
Inevitability
So I enjoy life to the best of my ability
Am I the only one who can keep up this stability?
I have hope for human kind
I hope someday we won't be so blind
It blows my mind, to think that
Someday we may find
A better reason to live our lives
Instead of the old 9 to 5
Wake up, work, so we could just survive
Do more than just stay alive
We need to strive
For something deeper, something more
Something that doesn't make life such a chore
We can be better than those who came before
Show them that there are things worth living for
I'm not a preacher
I'm just a man
Hoping someday people can understand
There's more to life than money, sex
Alcohol, drugs and their side effects
So I'm asking now, please, listen to my voice
Live life the best you can while you still have a choice
Rejoice
