Almost Home

Almost Home

A Poem by AMetaphoricalSoul
"

This is about how you should never go to bed angry

"
Are you still there?
I think I can hear you breathing
I can't see you in the darkness
There is no light
I'm sorry for what I said
But you should've never done what you did
My heart is in a knot
And I can't think straight
Show me a sign
That you're there for me
'Cause I know I'm here for you

Hold me close
Don't let me go
I'm almost home
I hope that you're still waiting for me
You know that I would do the same

I'm getting scared
Turn on the light
I can't reach you
I can't smell you
Give me your hand
I don't bite
Don't leave me here
By myself
My pillow's wet
My eyes are raw

Are you listening?
Do you understand me?
Are you still awake?
Are you even there?
I have to tell you
That I love you
