Small Connections

Small Connections

A Poem by AMetaphoricalSoul

Locking eyes with a stranger
Just longer than a split second
Sharing a brief glimpse into each other’s souls

Accidentally brushing past
The abrupt contact electrifying
Sending a warm shiver through the entire body

A small act of kindness
With friendly words spoken
Companions for a fleeting moment

Each interaction as meaningful as any other
Sharing space, air, time
Sharing the universe we all exist in

Inevitable proximity with those we don’t know
Yet an undeniable sense of familiarity between creatures
Shared knowledge of the immediate occasion

The energy surrounding
Differing auras blending to create a collective force
Our nature to relate forming oneness

No longer strangers
But partners of an endless existence
Accomplices of our reality

Victims of our circumstances
Heroes of our boundless world
Villains to the chaos
