All There IsA Poem by AMetaphoricalSoul
Where is meaning when the cause is lost?
Where is hope when meaning is gone? Our repetitive nature Structured, rigid Inconsequential distractions Keeping busy to pass the time Climbing imaginary ladders The fight to remain occupied just to reach the end of it all Avoiding it until it comes, until we can’t Then forgotten after a generation We live to die, yet we’re dying to live We’re told how to live, what to achieve Putting happiness on hold to succeed But our accomplishments are illusions Fabricated to provide empty significance To keep us pacified and unquestioning We blindly forfeit true substance to obtain irrelevance Living on for the absence of point and purpose Fearing death, yet hoping for it Unknowing what lies beyond Dreading the other side Eager for the possibilities © 2018 AMetaphoricalSoulFeatured Review
