Soul FlewA Poem by LeoBattle between the self and the devilThe clock ticks. You race against time. To claim titles and dime. A lifetime passes. Then you find yourself in the grime. Your soul in anguish. You find a way to banish. You attempt to remove the blemish. But it was all foolish. Right from the start. When you bought that nice cart. Where you invested your heart. Then met your sweetheart. Eager for that life jumpstart. Together you built a flowchart. Thinking you were really smart. But then things started to fall apart. It was no longer a colorful chart. Turns out she had an artificial heart. So you relapse. And everything begins to collapse. Too many gaps. Brain fog destroys escape maps. Devil welcomes you. Gifting you with soul flew. Nowhere to run. Can’t even shoot the b*****d with a gun. You feel trapped. And your soul kidnapped. So you relapse again. Realizing he dominates your brain. Your spirit locked in chain. Trying to keep you in his domain. But soon you start to gain. You face the black rain. You grow a mane. Knowing your truth remain. And that your heart is tame. Roaring at you, you got game. © 2018 Leo |
