Vagabond (Favorite #2)

Vagabond (Favorite #2)

A Poem by Leo
"

I've been to roughly 50 countries and countless cities in countries I'm yet to visit..this is just Part 1 of my reflections..

"

Vagabond

Marvelous foliage fills your senses

Fatigue no longer lingers

Noise and human nuisance recycles

South Africa greets you with new disciples

Devil awaits you

Disguised in charming windmills and facades

Calvinism yet red light district

Who are we kidding?

Holland shouts how I can ever be forgiven

Corruption cripples

Vast land and human capital

Giant minds and wasted talents

India only asks for a small nibble

World listen!

Destiny hoots and they start to christen

China rises as US despises

Japan bows and everything is back to drowse

You so vividly describe the political doldrums we must face daily, only you had to witness the devastation firsthand. Thanks for sharing your harrowing experience in such an eloquent way, you truly are a hero and I sincerely salute you! Glad we've met.......................

My wife and myself have traveled extensively over the past 21 years. The vast schism existing in various countries, economically and the attending results. Is an indictment on mankind,s dominating man to their injury.

This is packed to the brim. I don't even know where to start. To be honest the meaning didn't always come across to me, but that could very well be due to my lack of knowledge or ability to analyze. I do feel like it relates places around the world to God or biblical principles.

I think I pretty much got the point of the first stanza, and then you go and mention Calvinism! in the second stanza so i'm sure that one has a bunch to say on that, that I am missing out on. I sort get the gist of the third stanza, but in the fourth one I am a bit confused, especially with the last line. But that just gives me as the reader a bunch to think about and analyze.

I have really enjoyed reading this! It kind of feels like it has Easter eggs of significance hidden in each line if that makes any sense.

This is a very interesting piece! It stirs up the wanderlust that the busyness of this life seeks to keep buried deep.

I never choose the poems featured, I always like to read them all then make my choice of the one I liked most. I put this one first because of its flow and natural ease the way good poetry should be. well done.
