Unchained (Favorite #3)

Unchained (Favorite #3)

A Poem by Leo
"

Life imposes on us chains, visible and invisible. Such as darkness, ego, wrath, lust, greed, hatred, traumas..try living unchained in your brain for just 1 minute, it's worth every bit of visualizing!

"

Unchained

A man aspires to seize

Puts his wrath to sleep

Along comes a gentle breeze

And soon he starts to reap

Up he rises early

Sun beam overriding his weariness

Excited about his new journey

Certain of that renewed happiness

The lion in him always eager to play

His higher self occupying his sub-conscious

Angels promise to meet him halfway

When he breaks that chain of desire and opts to pray

He is only human

Thy righteousness still lurking within him

Only asks for a virtuous woman

In exchange for that infinite and harmonious rim

He rejoices in hardship

Always greeting God with a smile

His wrath finds solace in worship

As his soul marches a thousand miles

He then decides to quote John Donne

Donne said: “No man is One Island

But he thinks a man can still be a school

Where he continues to learn, inspire, and can still be cool

Wow! inspiring. I am inspired. your style is impressive. The rhyming scheme is on point. And I love themes portrayed in the poem: morality, freedom and responsibility. I must say, its not always that you read a poem that is very moral and ingenious at the same time. Nice work. And just to put it out there, I am a fan of John Donne.

I agree, It is worth the visualization. Living by the Spirit and not the flesh as was penned by Paul in a letter a long time ago ...against such things there is no law. The Galatians received it and continued to learn and was inspired. Very cool!

Glad you liked it..thanks
Deep and wise thoughts wrapped in a nicely written poem. The whole poem is lovely, but this what amazed me the most:

His wrath finds solace in worship
As his soul marches a thousand miles

You are welcome.
Really cool piece of work, that gives great insight to knowledge
always trying to educate yourself can never hurt but only help
and having God present in doing so is very intelligent,
education is the key but God is the skeleton key:)
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!

Wow. I like this one. Its truely magnificent. There is so much that can be learnt from this man. I really like how you disregarded putting fullstops a and commas at the end of the line so as to show that his journey will still continue. This oiece emphasises how to find the true meaning to life abd a yearning fir a righteous path. Simple beautiful. I also love your choice of words and lingi. Keeo up the great job.
Stay Inspired.

I really enjoyed this poem,I'm a big fan of religious poetry or religious flavoured poetry however as I had to learn all his poems off back in school is it John Donne you mean?
