The Grand Design

The Grand Design

A Poem by Stacy Hessler

As the seasons change from winter to spring,
Spring to summer.
Sometimes I begin to wonder.
What is the purpose of it all?
Why does the higher power allow some to fall?
Fall victim to such devastation.
Cyclones, hurricanes and tsunamis thrown upon us to break our concentration.
What is the point of allowing innocence to suffer?
It is heartless and cruel.
Understand that death is life and life is death,
It swoops in always allowing one final breath.
Who decides who stays and who goes?
That is too much power for anyone to hold.
Call it fate, life, death or the cycle that is everything.
Just don't change that which is your being.
The cycle will never break,
Life it will continue to take.
Pondering all cannot change the unknown,
That which is the "Grand Design" was long ago woven.

Very well done...nice perspective of it all...personally i don't believe in fate and destiny....i don't beleive in much of anything at all...but that is what i live for...not knowing.
Not knowing is mans biggest fear...but i say way be afraid of what we don't know? If life is wonderful thing, i'm sure after life isn't too bad either :P...nobody knows, bottom line...but sooner or later we will find out.

This is something I've contemplated time and time again.
And this is also something I've given up on as well.
It's just something I've come to accept.
I really like the point you make here.
You've done a fantastic job with this.

Very philosophical. I would like to point out I think we are under her wimb. We are grown because the mother wills it, and when she is ready, she will harvest what she invested herself in. I like this poem, good job.

About
I have been writing poetry since I was about 8 or 9 and could probably fill quite a few books with it all. I would love to have a few books of my poetry published one day. These days I do not have a.. more..
