Never has the phrase, "the little things matter," been so appropriate. I find myself relating to this poem very well, and I can provide many good analogies as to why I feel this way . . .
I adore the small things done in love during a marriage, not marriage in general. Anybody can get married, but its the small things that make the marriage worth keeping.
I find that I love the world alike to that, and even myself. Well done, Kristin, keep it up.
It may be that in years to come an understanding will flood upon you. These things you write of are both common and unique to this time, this place and to you. You may understand that it takes time and things, moments that are not these - that perhaps are the antithesis of these to really appreciate them. This piece seems a clear and honest statement of "now." ...and that's OK. We do not love the world and expect anything in return. We love the world and all it is, both light and dark, because we can... because it is in us to do so.
