Twisted

Twisted

A Poem by Kristin

One lies
And so does the other
Which one to believe
And which one is trying to deceive
Two lies
Just the same
But which will I let win
Lie to yourself,Lie to others
But try to lie to me
And not a word is believed
One lies
And so does the other
Why believe either
When neither is true
An answer is needed
So it be wrong
As long as one is there
For me to tell right from wrong

I felt a third-person connection with a duo falling in love; judging silently as decisions are made and various aspects of perception are protested amid the two. Unsaid interventions also inhabit your character's mind; a desire to choose which side is real but acknowledging both sides are love all the same. I like this. Well done.

A nice and very definitive statement of defiance and self-worth...well done :)

A nice crafting of asking oneself the proverbial question when caught between two different stories....which is the truth. A life situation we all confront. You do a nice job of asking how we "process" thougth this. I like the way you use the structure of One Lie, Two Lies, One Lie in the piece....very astute structuring.
