Waking Dream

Yet the time has come for your love to fail me,

No big surprise my darling soul

You've tried as I have to work this skeleton key,

There is a "snap" as it breaks as too many troubles have taken its toll

Know that we can only hold one another within our separate hearts,

Keep each other warm and safe throughout the night

This is how we stay melded yet apart,

Know that we've been to hell and back yet shall not give up the fight

Letting go of different things but keeping some of the others,

Well this requires a tender touch of finesse

As we face the task of knowing our druthers,

Then let it begin with learning we did give it our best.

Sometime we can feel defeated. No-one want to separate but the fear can overtake us. The tone of this poem is sad. When a dream fall apart. Need to find the pieces that made the dream appear. A powerful poem with a sad tale. A excellent poem.
