Paved The Road To Hell

Paved The Road To Hell
Temptation is staring me in the eyes,
I can't look away or compromise
The day that I turned away from you and walked,
Was the day that I lost my voice and couldn't talk
Sadness sears within my soul,
Oh hardened heart don't you know??
I may have been the one who you have to plead,
Never before have I seen you bleed
Yes I have walked and then begun to run,
Almost as if I was dodging that loaded gun
Somethings are just not meant to be in the end,
We live and learn yet we are meant to stamp that envelope and send
Inside would be the letter of my written truth to you,
A saying so melancholy and perhaps a shade of blue
Read this line as it is one of many written;
We had some good times together over many years and I left with a heart smitten
Yet now I hoping that you have a tenth of forgiveness within all of my shame,
I know my dear that I am the only one that the world could ever blame
Therefore the ending is as painful as the start,
Two souls of goodness through the years who've paved the way to hell with their deeds of the heart.

"I may have been the one who you have to plead,

This is one of your best poem. Direct and strong. Each line with a purpose and desire. I could break this poem down for hours. Trying to understand what we done and what we are going to do. Is very hard. Sometime I try to figure right from wrong. I guess better to have tried then watch the world go by. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

The end line really brings this whole poem together. We all make decisions that we shouldn't have but we learn from those mistakes.
