FameA Poem by StacyPerry3-30-2011
Fame
The time seems to stop, Have you looked at the clock?? I noticed it a moment ago, Shall we go ahead and start the show?? A parallel to our own demise, We all wear masks as our disguise Hiding from ourselves at times, Not wanting to see the truth in rhyme A poet, jester, lover and lair, This is who we try to lure Taking within those who are naive, Then showing them how not to believe Trust no one is the statement of choice, One that holds true as it comes from our voice Unfortunately there are the innocent that come out at birth, The ONLY innocents that exist on this earth So know this sinners and know this well, As we all have that one way ticket to hell Repenting and apologizing is not going to clear your name, It shall just leave that legacy of selfishness that we humans tend to call "fame".
