Balance BeamA Poem by StacyPerry1-22-2011
As we walk upon this balance beam,
Our feet begin to sway Our thoughts are seeming to redeem, The simpleness this way Yet we move but never fall, Something that we've over the years learned Stay upon this line for costs at all, For if we don't we'll get burned A slight slip of the feet and yet we stand, Tall as ever and balanced well At the end of the beam we jump, twist and land, A lesson taught to us within this cell No way to get out and no where to run, Simpletons think they can keep us inside They think they took away our sun, They think it's a bumpy ride Yet little do they know of us, Our strength and our persistence We walk the beam with justice and trust, Not the feelings of what they within us sense So know this puppet masters of our lives, You can not hold us back We shall walk the beam and dismount to stand straight and rise, It is you who is afraid of what YOU lack Then unlock this cell which you hold us in, You do not hold us against our will You have attempted to give us each deadly sin, Yet it has not worked as we won't bend as we have the skill To over come your petty oppression, An emotion you can't deny You have to let go of your obsession, With me as I am simply saying goodbye. © 2011 StacyPerryReviews
