Smother The Demons

The nightmares never end,

Even in my waking state,

This message to you I send,

Please re-determine my fate,

Take all of this blood,

Make it disappear,

My mind is a virtual flood,

The horrors I see as well as the fear,

Each time I close my eyes,

I just can't take what I see,

Too many people are going to die,

My nightmares haunt me,

So if anyone out there can make this unreal,

Take the pain from my mind & destroy it,

Then step up to the plate and break this unholy seal,

As I can only hope it takes a little bit,

Frightened of sleep and simply dozing off,

I dislike what I envision in my mind,

Please grab that pillow of which is soft,

Place it over my head so me the demons can't find.

Nightmares can be a horrible thing. Most of the time I have good dreams. Trying focusing on something positive before going to sleep and not working up until you crash. The imagery was done very well.

Wow. This is amazing. This would be something that could be read at a poetry event, it's so many emotions and so much imagery. Wonderful.

To hold such internal thoughts in your head of death and slaughter would make you mad. A great story in this poem. I had to read a few times. A outstanding poem. Thank you.
