34 = Living Hell

34 = Living Hell

A Poem by StacyPerry

Now the time is near,
I have begun to love and care
If it weren't for your heart,
There would of never been a start
Thankfully you were here for me,
A kiss upon the hand for good luck you see
I can stand on my own without the training wheels,
No more crutches or grabbing walls of steel
There was nothing that could hold me up I am realizing at this point,
Not even the words you've placed within me to anoint
A prayer stated within my mind,
Not even words of the subtle kind
So take this as it truly is,
A grateful mention from this heart of a kid
All grown up now can't you tell,
35 years and only 34 of it a living hell.

Very powerful and rather a tragic ending to this, but I'm sure its an honest one. I hope the days only get better.

I love the last line in this poem. The emotions are shown and it is wonderful when someone opens your eyes to see things differently a little more amazing. The flow isn't perfect but the poem makes its statement.

*note* - My b-day is in June [12th], but thank you anyhow hun.

As for the poem; When I wrote this it came out with a new meaning for me as it just simply states that as I have gone through my life thus far, it has had the making of a hellish movie......yet, everyone experiences something at some point....therefore when I was lucky enough to take a chance and find someone who loves me for ALL I AM, not who they think I am -- it was a relief and my new living [instead of just existing] began Sept. 17th 2010 [35 years old and finally able to be unconditionally loved by a man who knows of all my evils and good side....he isn't afraid to talk and he is a musician. To me that is who I have searched for while stopping in between to make sure I could survive [PLEASE do not think I am speaking ill of Paul or Chris, they are two wonderful men who just needed to be with someone else that made them happy. I will always hold a place in my heart for them].

Happy birthday! LOL. I don't really know if the poem was positive or a negative one. Hehe. Nice piece, by the way.

34 years out of 35 in living hell? I like the beginning. Told a good story of finding peace and being thankful. It is hard to stay strong and positive. We all need someone to tell us we will be alright. A excellent poem.
