Poetic Thank You

Taking it hard within my heart,
Knowing that we'll forever be apart
Thinking about the past years of our lives,
Knowing that a piece of our hearts had just died
When reflecting on the times we had,
Whether good or bad they all had a glimmer of sad
I'll never forget everything you've done for me,
I hope that everything I've done for you isn't too painful for you to see
Know that deep within we loved each other at one point in this life time,
Remember that when our next existence hits we might do this dance with your hand in mine
Hopefully we can get it right and become friends,
Stay that way so there's no bitter end
There will always be a place in my soul for you,
That is nothing you're finding out that is new
I would like one last thing to be said for your ears;
If it weren't for the help you've given, the love we did share and the many roller coaster years,
Then both of us would not know happiness now with the ones we are with......
So I seal this poetic Thank You with a heartfelt Kiss.

The end of this poem isn't what i thought it was going to be. "The line Then both of us would not know happiness now with the ones we are with......" takes this poem is a different direction. The flow is off but the emotion and the thoughts are clearly presented. the last line is a nice touch.
