Caught Under Ice

Caught Under Ice

A Poem by StacyPerry
"

9-10-10

"
Laying back within the water,
All my thoughts sink in farther
Floating with my arms above,
My mind empties of all but love
Weightless in this paradise,
Seems the water is getting cold as ice
Trapped within this frozen cell,
I'm now drowning in my hell
What once was peace is now fear,
Not sure how I got trapped down here
Scratching, clawing, screaming without sound,
No one hears what is not visibly around
As I sink to the bottom,
Thoughts of mine turn very rotten
I tried to forget and yet I rave,
I've been lost under heavy thoughts and that is why it's taken me to my grave.

This is despair at its worst. the sad lonely feel making you freeze and sink to the bottom of a frozen pond. You have weaved wonders with your words and imagery in this piece.

All of us trap ourselves inside a mental hell of our own, those of us with a heart at least. Yet again, love is a trigger of insanity :) though we could live without love it would be a very lonely walk.

Yes we can be drowned in pain and suffering. Sometime hard to see daylight with so much B.S. I like the feel and emotion of your words. I feel similar sometimes. A excellent poem.
