Last Words

NEVER LEAVE THE HOUSE UPSET WITH THE ONE YOU LOVE or GO TO BED ANGRY........YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT COULD HAPPEN and WHAT WORDS COULD BE THE LAST THING YOU SAY TO THEM!!

Where have you been all of my days,
Have you been with me in so many ways??
Have I just noticed you were by my side,
My companion, friend, lover and guide??
Why haven't you spoken louder than a whisper in my ear,
Perhaps you have been slightly hoarse my dear??
Amazing how I feel you touch my shoulder before I make a mistake,
I gather you don't want me to drown in this self pity of a lake
How long have you decided to stay with me,
I could only hope for an eternity
What made you who you are today,
There are so many people that were in the way
When will you accept you're my ghost that loves to taunt,
Because when that day arrives I shall be more then thrilled that you chose me to haunt
After your death I was lost with emotions that I feel,
Losing you forever was not part of the deal
Now I know your presence is with me each and everyday,
I gather if I had a chance there would be only one thing left to say;
No matter if we are angry, sad or happy
Make sure to tell the one you love that they mean the world to you through the good and the bad.

this is a great poem for expressing pain for loosing some one very close to you and a great way to look at it. It may in fact be a personal experience, and that is a great feeling. the description and imagery in the poem is done very well and the last two lines are heart felt and meaningful.
