The Note

The Note

A Poem by StacyPerry

I had a two page note that I decided to open to the page that was pre-marked,
I couldn't take my eyes of each and every part
The words were gripping me in fear and in lust,
It depended on the sentence as I read more......I must
I got to the end before I knew it,
I set the finished note down to think of what had been read and grabbed a cigarette
I stood and stared into the room as I began to pace,
The words that were still in my head were stuck and beginning to race
I finished the cigarette, put it out and walked into the bedroom where you lay,
I stared at you with a calm that set upon me for the rest of the day
As I headed to the bed so I could get a better look at you,
You were so peaceful so I laid down, wrapped your arm around me just like I always do
You were a bit chilled so I grabbed the blanket and pulled it up over our bodies,
Something was still bothering me about the note I just finished but I wouldn't wake you to see
After you not getting warmer or feeling your breath on my neck,
I rolled over and faced you smiling and disregarding my mind that was such a wreck
I kissed your lips and I saw you pale,
The time had come for you to bail
You weren't breathing anymore my dear,
Death had taken you very severe
I couldn't get up and leave you laying,
I laid with my dead love and my mind began saying;
You should of known that he was gone,
You were reading his suicide note that was easily a piece of a song
He sung it to me once and it went like this:
I hated to love you and now I have left you with something that will make sure you question for the rest of your life as you shall never have eternal bliss
I laid with the dead for the rest of the day,
"I Love You" I said to the one man who I love as he continued to be passed away.

This is so sad...and am left wondering why he would
leave such a mean note...but someone said it below (maybe),
revenge? I had a lover that killed himself. He left no note, but
I know why; still his family doesn't really know why. I probably
don't know the whole story either. Maybe we shouldn't.
If someone is going to commit this act...they are desperate.

Wow this is so griping and moving. This poem tells a story the whole way through. I was shocked though at the ending. I wasn't expecting him to be dead let alone by suicide. This is so sad and heartbreaking.

I don't know about suicide notes, they always have seemed to me to be a sort of revenge.

A very sad and powerful poem. Notes are rarely lefts and would make someone death very difficult. It is hard to understand suicide and the pain of being with someone who did leave a permanent scar on our heart and mind. The story is so strong. The description made the words come alive. A very powerful poem.
