In The Signs

In The Signs

A Poem by StacyPerry

Once upon a time,
There was a girl that would pine
She pined for an old friend,
One she swore about loving until the end
He knew of this and pulled her strings,
He loved her slightly but was Leo, a king
She was only two halves of a whole,
He couldn't love her completely and she didn't know
Even though he told her time and time again,
She believed what she wanted and that was he's a friend
She thought he could be more,
He knew that she'd do anything for him and let her in the door
Little did she know he was going to be her puppet master,
Sad she let him as there was no cure
Her love ran deep and it was a beautiful site,
All he gave her was false hope and plight
That's when she changed and the other half took over,
He never knew what hit him and he ran for cover
Her sweet heart turned black as night,
He would now learn how he treated her wasn't right
She was the woman scorned,
Him, well he was not the king anymore but the outlaw torn
She fought to get back his loving touch,
He wasn't in any sort of rush
After he discerned that she wasn't one,
He decided to stand and not run
She told him she loved him and that would be forever,
He looked at her and said "My dear Gemini, that's a long time for me to love you never".

The first part of this poem deeply reminds me of how I feel sometimes. There are times in our life when we see what we want. For me it has been ages ago and I still love him with every beat of my heart. Love can be a strange and unusual thing especially when the person you love lives almost a thousand miles away. this poem touches on how we truly want something but it will never happen. It is beautifully and fluidly written but is so sad at the same time. Great poem you have created here. One that many can relate to at one point in their life or another. I love the line about him being her puppet master.

A rather sad tale but very well told, I think. One person using another is never a good thing but seems to happen way too often.

This is really interesting :)
The last line blows you away! It is quite sad in a moving way too, love unrequited and yet there is also a touch to this of the Gemini, awesome!

A very interesting tale. You create a very strong story. I like how toy twisted the story to making her seem not human. I like the ending. A excellent poem. Thank you.
