The Story Of Mark and Michelle

The Story Of Mark and Michelle

A Poem by StacyPerry
"

A true story that ended up turning into a poem.......interesting.

"
Here's a tale I need to tell,
It's one of love that turned into hell
Mark and Michelle loved one another at a point in their lives,
Unseeingly to them their friendship then died
The moment Michelle kissed Mark's lips the turn of events came to a twist,
Michelle never knew it at the time and if she did she would of never took that bliss
It came upon her all of the sudden, she saw him and needed to hold him,
Then the kiss she had given was one of her pushing him backwards in the room so dim
She then and there knew that something inside her broke,
Don't worry as it wasn't her mind as it was her heart love soaked
The passion was intense and he kissed her back hard,
Then and there it began as it must of been in the cards
Then Mark and Michelle had began spending a lot of time together,
More then usual and she wanted to leave; never
Mark would hold her as they sat on the couch and watched movies,
Michelle held him back and kissed his cheek when he couldn't see
They would lie in bed together without any clothes,
Face it, neither one of them did any thinking you know??
They would lay in one anothers arms for hours on end,
Nothing more and nothing less was around the bend
Then came a time when Michelle couldn't show,
Mark was hurt and that's when she began to know
He hated her for that moment and now she has to live with it forever,
Michelle lost Mark as a friend, confidant and all that was left was a part time lover.

This was a very well thought out prose poem. True story, and it happens far too often. I often beggar the question if men and women can ever be mutual friends. Half of me likes to think so as the majority of my friends are men, but the other half keeps saying no, there's always something there to bring a man and a woman close together. It's such a shame that it ended so painfully. I really feel the pain of both parties here.

Sadly, once a man and a woman have been lovers its almost impossible to be friends later.

This [even though ended up in a Poem] story was in fact something that "Michelle" didn't know. "Mark" was the one who told her that the friendship ended at that moment and she was the one who was a bit surprised and felt left down that she lost a friend at that moment.
I do like all of the interpretations that everyone has had though. Interesting.

This poem seems to underline the sorry fact that most friendships between two people of the opposite sex end up in disaster. To say it always happens would be an over-generalisation but this true story could be one of so many I've heard about.

The way in which you describe Michelle's action in this prose poem suggests that even at the moment when she stepped over the boundary between friendship and something else she knew it was doomed, 'she then and there knew that something inside her broke'. We can only guess as Mark's thoughts as the poem focuses on Michelle's point of view but one can only conclude that it was something similar.

There's a real cynicism to the line, 'Face it, neither one of them did any thinking you know'. This third person opinion is probably also shared by many readers as they predict the eventual failure of the friendship, the relationship and the arrival of hate.

This is a sorry tale of a relationship gone wrong and you've portrayed it well.

Again, keep in mind, this is a TRUE STORY being told.

A sad story, well painted though. I think this happens all too often. It still amazes me sometimes how people who are intimate often cannot have a friendship as well.

true that often times friendship falls at the feet of intimacy~ it's a complex balance to achieve a step out of a friend view into the mirror lover~ a sad tale~
