Cake Walk

Life is not simple as much as people think,
There are people that harm you emotionally, physically and mentally
Sometimes there are people that sate themselves with a smoke or drink,
If only there was a way to get away from all the anger and have harmony
Life is full of surprises as well as twists and turns,
We see people for who they are only IF we desire
Unfortunately some of us end up getting burned,
Our hearts are all thrown into the funeral pyre
All I ever wanted was a place of love and not sickness,
You seem to want everyone and everything else except me
I couldn't do enough for you even when it was my best,
I can't even shed a tear anymore for caring isn't a feeling that is a possibility
So if you think for one more second that life is a cake walk,
You haven't walked a mile in my shoes
I suggest you begin with the door being shut in your face instead of a talk,
Then turn to the emotional and mental abuse.
