Mark Left

Mark Left

A Poem by StacyPerry

These races we run seem to go for miles,
Seems like they are a symbol for all of life's trials
We basically flee until we are on splintered bones,
Running from our past will never get us home
Just stop running and walk to the nearest thought,
Only you can decide what is sold in your life and what is bought
Others need to be convinced by you that things aren't as bad as it seems,
Then again we some times live in a perpetual dream
I know I have been trying for over twenty seven years,
Trying to deal with the pain, the heartache and the thousands of tears
Just know to realize that we all shall be erased from this page one day,
The only difference is if we choose to leave a mark behind for others to know we we're never in a cage
We had always flown free,
So I believed you when you said you loved me
Too bad that words are simple words when it comes to you,
You said that yourself my darling and you know what.......it's true.

When the words that are held precious become useless. We are true-ly alone till we can overcome and try again. A powerful poem with a sad story. Last line put the strong statement on this poem. A excellent poem.
