Believe Me

Believe Me

A Poem by StacyPerry
"

This was written pen to paper for Chris. *Keep in mind that this rhyme scheme isn't my normal pattern.......*

"
I don't have you on a pedestal,
I don't keep you in a cage,
I can't take you for granted,
I can't expect you to be my sage,
You know what's in my heart,
You feel what's in my soul,
You can finish each of my sentences,
You are the one who pays the toll,
If only I knew the words,
If only I could express my true feelings,
If I knew how to show you everyday,
If I could stop being so absurd,
You just might fall back in love with me,
You could tell me what I feel is true,
You'd know everything was magical inside,
You should know that you hold the key,
I can say I love you until I am blue,
I could look into your eyes,
I could take your hand in mine,
I would never compromise you,
Please believe me when I say this to you my dear,
That the love we have is special,
You are my first true love and for that I am thankful,
I shall always hold you in my heart very near,
I am in love with you; Christopher,
I shall always be as there is no one and nothing that will come between us and/or take that away from me.

Sweet .. and full of emotion.
I believe, the last sentence needs to
be broken into two or revised a bit.
It's a lovely thought, however!

Very well done! It shows how your love for them is actually confused :D I agree with PoppySilver; I think using a name adds an intensity to this actually!

The poem is beautiful and hopeful. We can't allow disappointment and fear to block opportunity of a great love. We will have but a few that will make us crazy. A outstanding poem of thankfulness and love.
