Unconditionally Yours

If there was never a thrill between us,
Would there of been the spark of lust??
If there was never a love to hold me to you,
Would there of been feelings that are to this day so true??
If there was never that very first kiss,
Would it be you that I miss??
If there was never the chess game of life,
Would we have caused one another so much strife??
If there was never the moon and the stars,
Would I have given you my trust as you left all those scars??
If there was never that chance meeting of you and me together,
Would I of thought when you said you loved me it would be forever??
If I continue to play this game of questions then I should concede now,
I just can't imagine my life without you even though you've taken your final bow
So when you turn away from me,
I want you to look closer so you could see
That no matter when or where it occurs,
Love is unconditional from my end yet it is sad it isn't from yours as I shall forever and always be unconditionally yours.

Sometimes a person is simply a stepping stone to your future;
cloaked in loving feeling and tenderness, sometimes not.
I'd break up that last sentence into two or three.
Many questions that sometimes just have no easy answer.
