Gothic StoryA Poem by StacyPerry
The day came when I got the call,
I was told that you were gone I couldn't stand up tall, My heart was breaking at the thought that your life was done I went into a half catatonic state, I was sitting in the car just staring ahead A friend came to me so he could try to sate, I had to utter the words to him that you were dead He let me cry on his shoulder but no tears would fall, He said it would be alright I am trying to look back and recall, I think I said that I am left without fight He hugged me and then told me to be safe on the way, I said thank you and I began to drive home A mind set on auto-pilot or so they say, The car took me to my destination in my mind, unknown I walked up the stairs and into the door, If this were a true Gothic torture story Where's the Raven saying "nevermore"?? © 2010 StacyPerryFeatured Review
