Life's Dice

From 2002

I desperately wish that we were still us,
I hoped for this continuously around misguided trust
You hurt me deeply and this wound just won't heal,
There aren't enough words to describe the pain that I feel
I had a vision, of us, together, forever,
But I learned the hard way that is it for never
You said you loved me, you said you cared,
That was an obvious lie, was it me that you feared?
Was it me loving you that you could not handle,
Or was it your heart that simply burnt out like a candle?
You weren't sure with your not knowing where to go,
But when I asked was it me, you just simply said no
Being honest with me, it would of been nice,
But I gather all was lost with a roll of life's dice.

Sometime we win and sometime we lose. I don't know. In my young days I would be heart broken for days. With age relationships became less painful. Poem is very good. I could feel the struggle to make some sense of life. A excellent poem.
