Meeting YouA Poem by StacyPerryjmgThe times were normal way back when, It seemed that I only needed a friend Then you appeared out of the blue, We spent time together, I clung to you If I would known now what I was doing then, I would of staid farther away and not of been your friend I got too close and cared to much, Times got tense and some times got tough I learned the hard way I could fall in love with the idea of you, But I would be destroying anything that was remotely friendly and true I swore to myself this wouldn't ever happen again, I swore that I would only hold someone else as a friend So to you I say a sad farewell, I can not spend more time to tell My heart is already beginning to ache, Which tells me how many steps backwards I need to take As I stand and look at us as strangers, I can even see that becoming a danger All I ever wanted was to forget the past I ever knew, I did that by starting over with befriending you So I gather this way the tale shall end, I shall give my love to no one and be alone to attempt Zen I know it won't happen as you will be on my mind, Then I shall come back to you as the path is easy to find Really does it matter how this all ends?? I can't get rid of you in my heart my dear one, my loving friend. © 2010 StacyPerry |
