Are You Okay??

We sit there smiling like the world is okay.

Even though inside we are dying.

When we show that we are the least bit sad

People ask 'Are you okay'?

Are you okay?

It is a bitter-sweet sentiment,

In which we always reply to as yes.

Why?

Because we know they are only asking to sooth their conscience

Even though the world is crumbling

You always fake smile and laugh
Why?

It is easier to pretend.

Even though you want to scream at the unfairness

And the unjustness of the world

You want to scream for recognition

You want to scream until all your worries are gone

And the soothing feeling of relief washes over you.
Are You Okay?

You wish and you pray.

You want your answer to be an honest Yes.

A bittersweet world we live in. The most hardest questin to answer, because you're not really sure if the the person asking really does care or if they are just trying to ease their own worry, and sometimes in the end, their guilt.
