chapter 2 Alexander POVA Chapter by GorgEOus NiGhtMarEThe sword of light extended
from Gabriels hand as he held the abomination against the wall of the alley.
"Please tell me where the school is?" he calmly asked. The night was
cold and the putrid stench of garbage made it hard to breath. The sound of
passing cars, stray animals and other noises associated with city blending in
with the heavy breathing of the trapped human looking creature was all that was
to be heard. The abomination whimpered
against the wall as Gabriel pressed the sword closer to the exposed flesh of
his neck. "Why would I know?! I’m just a rogue!” I stared into his eyes forest
green eyes from my spot across the alley. He was lying. You see, this wasn’t
just any rogue were. This mixture of pixy and dryad that escaped. The school
held abominations, but not just any. The one we were currently looking for
housed younger beings that where mixed breeds. Mixtures of were and vampire.
Fey and fallen. So on and so forth. It also housed young and powerful beings. We
NEEDED to find it and cleanse the land the establishment is built on. This
creature we are interrogating is one of the ONLY things we have been able to
track down who escaped. Gabriel pressed the sword closer, cutting his neck and
drawing blood. The rogue muffled a scream. It was scary how well these
things blended in with humans. This particular creature wore a bikers jacket
and ripped jeans. His face was cleanly shaved and the smell of beer and cigarette
smoke rolled of his breath. Mixing in with the faint smell of pixy and dryad,
body odar and fear. His symmetrical features and shaggy brown black hair made this
poor soul looked no older than 26 and even with his bulky form was no match
against the arch angel. Why would this creature hid in the city? He is useless
without the element of nature around him. I closed my eyes. He will still be
passed through judgement by HIS command even if he was an unnatural being. Then
his soul will rest in peace and no longer taint the earth. I wished I could start the
job I had been created to do. As an angel I was giving the responsibility of cleansing
the world, but yet I’m still unable to unlock the power god gave me. So I am
stuck as a shadow for Gabriel being, as the humans put it, an apprentice.
“Where” Gabriel spoke, breaking my chain of thought. The thing screamed. “Canada!!
Somewhere in the Canadian mountains ! I don’t know where!” he started balling
and hyperventilating. Poor thing…. This must be the reason god has my powers
still locked. I couldn’t do what Gabriel is doing…. “Gabriel, he is in pain and
he told you where the school is… shouldn’t we let the poor creature go for
now?” I quietly asked as I pushed myself off the wall. Gabriels’ eyes never
wavered from the male he had pinned against the dirty, graffiti covered wall. “Alexander, he is an
abomination. He must pass through HIS judgement. You job shall one day be to cleanse
the land of this filth. And to do that you do not let them go off to clubs and
bars and other human hide-outs that the crawl into. You set their souls free,
young one.” A car passed out-lining the perfect, strong features of Gabriels
face. His high cheekbones, golden hair, wide determined blue eyes and smooth
porcelain skin. “You will be free the one known as Dylan” he softly spoke to
the sobbing shaking mess. “no no no no Please n….” it
pleaded before the beautiful blade completely severed its head off. Gabriel let
go of the creature and stepped away. Blood spouted out of the place its head
used to be positioned as it fell to the ground with a horrible crack. I looked
away with a sick feeling filling my gut. I would have to do this. Bile rose in
my throat and the copper smell of the seeping crimson was breathed deeply into
my lungs. Gabriel pulled me into a hug.
“The first one is always to worst. Your kind hearted. Don’t loose that. But
about… what you just saw don’t worry brother you will get used to it.” I looked
back over to the broken body. It was
already disappearing into shards of light. Its wide dead green eyes the last
thing to disappear. It shards floated
upwards and disappeared into the smoke of cars that crept along every street in
this neighbourhood. I turned away only to be faced with a pair of determined
hard eyes. ‘Alexander. You KNOW how to
track down the location from here. Your only a new angel, not yet old enough
for the dust to settle. You CAN blend in with these things. When you find then
I want you to gain their trust. I want you to find out their weaknesses so that
we can cleanse them in HIS name. I won’t be able to get within 4000 miles of
the location. The rest is up to you’ A car alarm shrieked out,
breaking me out of my trance. When I looked back, he vanished. **** I walked in the dark terrain
of the Canadian forest. The moonlight casting a dim light through the canopy of
the trees above. Pausing I sniffed the air for traces of supernatural beings. I have been trying to find
the abominations location for almost 2 month now and how I wished Gabriel was here
to help me. Only after he left did I realise I had NO clue what part of Canada
I was meant to search which meant LOTS of interrogations, researching and times
like now where I’m walking in different forests trying to pick up scents. They are so clue I can almost
hear them. So close I can almost smell them. But it’s like they knew I was
coming and are waving a bone in front of me just out of reach like they were
teasing a dog. I wished they would just throw me that bone already so we can
start the chase. Shivering I pulled my black
jacket closer to my body. What am I going to do when I found
them anyway? I’m meant to blend in. join them. Become them. Lead them to
redemption. But how? How do I gain there trust? Running my fingers through my
shaggy brown hair I let out a sigh. I should be close to them by now. I wonder
how they live like. Were there towns or city’s or roads are there? Maybe it’s a
small town cloaked in glamour? If it is cloaked with glamour maybe they hid the
scent trail as well. What happens if I have already found it but my subconscious
told me to walk away because of the glamour? I wish Gabriel was here. He would
help me. NO! This is MY mission I don’t need his help! Great now I’m arguing
with myself. Brain refrain yourself! Ii stood still and listened
to the wind. Trying to pick up any sounds- The wind through the trees- The animals
playing in the trees- The rabbit playing cat and mouse with a fox- an owl
looking for dinner- A stream. A stream!! That stream HAS to
turn into a river! The abominations NEED water! i closed my eyes and followed
the sound. My feet hardly touching the ground and I ran. The stream was beautiful. Something
from a fairy tale. Soft ferns and pebbles decorated the clear water and it cascaded
down into small waterfalls. The stars shone on the water as it lit a path. Truly a fine piece of art HE has
created. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply. What is that? I took a deep
breath of the fresh air again. Not human. Not nephilum. Not angel. Not anything
I recognise. I looked at the ground and saw tracks in the soil. Picking up some
of the cool damp earth I noticed that it was fresh tracks too. Maybe an hour
old? I began following the tracks.
Following the stream with the shimmering lights. I treaded on the ground carful-
trying not to make any tracks of my own. I COULDN’T be caught until I was ready
to be. I walked for about 10 minutes until the breeze blew a soft, melodic
voice against me. the voice was full of raw power and intensity that I couldn’t
help but race in the direction of the voice. Not caring about tracks. I reached the bottom of the
stream which fell into a largish waterfall. A beautiful creek sat at the
bottom, catching the falling water-droplets. The voice was loudest hear. Tears plucked
my eyes as my heart leaped. No music has ever touched me as much. I felt the
magic in the air and the surrounding environment seemed to respond. Animals where
crowded around the edge of the creek and trees seemed to dance. I saw the
dancing stars reflect on the water below. I never felt so… free. So sad. So happy.
So many different emotions flooded me. I creped around to were the animals
where at the bottom of the waterfall and sat behind the trees. I needed to see
who was making that beautiful noise. The magical guitar and intoxicating voice.
Just as I looked out the music ended and all was still again. As if nothing
ever happened. What DID just happen? It was
as if I lost all rational thought…. Then I saw her. She was sitting on a rock in the
waterfall. Raven black hair spilling like a waterfall, framing her heart shaped
face. Her black cardigan pulled closely around her slender frame. She sat there
for what seemed like hours although I knew it where only minutes, hugging her
guitar in deep thought. I tried to creep forward for
a better view. I had to have a closer look. Wait… what if she is one of the abominations?
She may be a fallen? Why do I even care what she looks like? She could.. SNAP!!
I jumped slightly. I stepped on a twig. I looked at the girl. She put her
guitar further inside the cave and ran outside. Her wide fearful blue eyes
scanned the surroundings. Then her eyes met mine. © 2013 GorgEOus NiGhtMarEReviews
