A Body Lost At Sea

A Body Lost At Sea

A Poem by Sheriah Mozelle
"

Sometimes we all feel lost at sea, this poem is about my depression and how I feel like a lost soul at sea.

"

I feel lost at sea,

No one will ever find my lifeless body,

Hanging out by the barnacles and kelp,

Not a single soul will shed tears over an unoccupied grave,

I will forever be in this constant motion and frigid water,

I am a lost cause,

Drowning in my own misery,

Constantly reminded that I’m not good enough,

I never will be,

I have forever become Poseidon’s passenger,

While the carnivorous sea-creatures feast upon my decomposing corpse,

The victims of sunken ships dance around my spirit,

I am like an empty bottle of rum,

Used up and discarded,

One time use,

The Bermuda triangle is child’s play compared to my mysterious disappearance,

Carried in the ebb and flow of the water,

With no control,

My body washed away like last year’s hurricane victim,

No reason to search for it,

Because I am somebody that nobody wants found.
