I Will Cry No Tears

I Will Cry No Tears

A Poem by Sheriah Mozelle

I will cry no tears,

When I hear the last howl,

From the last wolf,

At the last moon,

On our last day living on Earth.

I will cry no tears,

When sadness sweeps over the land,

As a woman stares into the cold and empty eyes of her stillborn child,

When all life is lost,

When all that is left is a black hole and empty space.

I will cry no tears,

At the thought of pain,

As the roaring flames boil my skin,

At the sight of bones and the copper taste of blood within my mouth.

I will cry no tears,

I will not scream,

I will not listen to the agonizing sounds around me,

I will not,

I will not,

I will,

I will cry a river into existence.
