Laughter Silent

Laughter Silent

A Poem by Sheriah Mozelle

Missing,
Staying,
Gone and going,
Memories,
Hopes,
Thoughts,
And whispers,
The squeak of a swing,
A little girl,
Pale in the face,
Except for Rosie cheeks,
A flower dress,
Worn-out and ragged,
Laughing Silence,
Her smile fading,
Around,
Around,
On the merry-go-round,
Two little boys,
Ashen skin and red noses,
Bitten from the cold,
But it's July,
They turn and laugh silence,
Fading in and out,
Their clothes beaten and tattered,
Movement,
A little girl,
Alabaster skin and curly hair,
Gliding down a slide,
Smiling bright,
Her pale face streaked with tears of laughter,
Her laughter silent,
Memories fading,
In and out,
Ghost children,
Gone and going,
Staying,
And missing.
