Amistad

Amistad

A Poem by Scout

Tomorrow is another day

filled with hope or sorrow

I dream of the sun

shining on the yellow grass

the smell of sweat

and nature combined

of hard work and love

When I wake up

I see only darkness

of pain and cruelty

I feel cold and tightness

on my wrists and ankles

I cry salty tears

that sting my wounds

I beg for help

no one answeres

I shout louder

people ignore me

I call out for freedom

and one face turns

he smiled at me

and heard my story

he fought for me

and I dreamt

of umbrella shaped trees

and when I woke up

I saw the dark faces

of my people

the stripes of my animals

and I felt

the sweat on my forehead

I knew that

I was free

About
I love writing and reading. It is the best feeling to sit down and write out your feelings in poetry, or imagine a dream world and write a novel. I can not imagine not writing ever, it is like my oxyg.. more..
