Kind EyesA Poem by moderndaypeterpanNothing formal, just some thoughts I feel really passionate about.I truly believe you can tell if someone is genuinely kind just by looking into their eyes. But I never knew anyone could lose that glimmer so suddenly, So suddenly to the point that I no longer know them, To the point where I question if I ever knew them at all. The thing about kind eyes is that they are incapable of lying. They are the eyes of innocence, The eyes of eternal giving and insatiable love. But once tradgedy corrupts them, it becomes a difficult task to renew them A task only another with kind eyes could possibly entertain. I was once that renewal. And I greatly, yet briefly succeeded. I renewed the kindest eyes I have ever known. But once kind eyes are corrupted they are forever more vulnerable. So when a pair of heavily painted and self interested eyes came along, My favorite pair of kind eyes circumed and became vacant. The transformation can hardly be put into words. But a past and present comparison is almost unreal. All of our eyes have been corrupted in some way, But it is our job to renew them and love with no limits. © 2010 moderndaypeterpanReviews
