Story Of Your Life

Story Of Your Life

A Poem by Harshita Srivastava

Flipping through the pages of life, Many years from today, Glancing through your triumphs and falls And the people that would come your way, Let no page be filled with repentance For what you could have written otherwise For the love you could have expressed more To the ones who stayed through your lows and highs. Let there be no signs of guilt found For your actions and your words should have made more sound Against all the wrong and the unfair and the nasty evils abound. Let there be no pictures that display The colors that were not your choice But filled in by the ties and rules Of a society too wise Fill in the pages of your life With a story that will be told your way Free from regrets, guilt and longings complete with moments proud and gay Spread love, happiness and hopes And believe in your insights Break the chains and follow your heart And have the courage to fight. Be your own prophecy And write as best as you can, For your story once written, Can never be undone
