They'll always be your babies

They'll always be your babies

A Poem by Craig Thomas

We'll wipe their bums and wash their faces.
We'll teach them how to tie their laces.
We'll comfort them when they lose races.
We'll tidy toys and build their bases.
We'll drive them to their active places.
We'll iron their clothes and pack their cases.

We prayed and wished to have them born.
We'll keep them safe from dusk through dawn.
We'll show them love, and never scorn.
We'll clean the slate from every morn.
We'll fix and mend when things get torn.
We'll set them free, but guide and warn.
