Peas

Peas

A Poem by Craig Thomas
"

A request from a dear friend and old neighbour. Think he was trying to stump me when I asked him to give me a subject. You may think he succeeded....

"
Peas are just majestic
It's not a case of hype
The choice of which amazes me
There are a many type

I don't like garden especially
They’resweet, but not my taste
Marrofat are much preferred
They rarely go to waste

Mushy are sublime
And make a chippy work
Sweet in pods are not my thing
The shelling bit I shirk

But the inspiration
For writing about pea
Is the hot and spicy snack
The lovely wassabi

It's like a nut but not a nut
An accompaniment for beer
It's a crunchy nibbly fun sized pea
In a hot spicy veneer

So get yourself to asda
And to the foreign food section
Pick up a bag and indulge yourself
In my Japanese horseradish affection

Nay minted mushy peas or pie and mushy peas on a cold winters day yum. I totally agree marrowfat over garden every time.

The humble pea
food of the gods
from filth and dirt
and trodden sods
in a pan boiling hot
they make a real treat
so put away the tatters
as it's peas I want to eat

loved the poem, you nailed it and as a Yorkshire man I cannot think of ouwt better than a rest nice bowl of t'peas wi mint sauce, cracking lol. Keep em' coming
