bread crumbs

bread crumbs

A Poem by spunkyleo

papa pushed me back and forth upon the rusty chained swing.

in the blooming park, fuzzy duckling scoured across the cracked pavement searching for crumbs of bread that an old woman with thick lensed glasses tossed to the ground.

care to feed the ducklings child?

i grab a handful. Oh such a handful that my short and fragile fingers could barely grip the flaky contents.

i look to my hand.

then into the impatient duckling's greedy black eyes.

then back.

then forth.

And... GULP!

papa laughed and howled.
the surprised duckling "QUAKED?!"
but the old woman just scowled.

This was neat poem, reminded me very much of my childhood where my family would feed the greedy little ducks, lol. Nice job.
